Here's 3 tips to beginning your kitchen or bathroom remodel during COVID-19. We are specifically in the Orlando, FL area but these tips could apply to any state or city.
1. LOOK FOR A VIRTUAL ESTIMATE
Businesses are focusing on innovative ways to keep work going yet meet local and state COVID-19 safety requirements. Many kitchen and bathroom remodel companies may be offering virtual estimates and design consultation. This is a great way to interview who you may use for your remodel, get their design ideas and a rough estimate. You can then compare estimates and designs without having opened your home.
At Kitchen & Bath Plus, we are offering the Orlando community a virtual estimate, which you can find on our page here along with a 15 minute video design consultation. The consultation is a great way to connect with a designer and get to know the company you may be opening your home to for your remodel.
2. USE YOUR EXTRA TIME TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
Some customers wait to research all the products and design ideas they want to do until after they have began their remodel project - adding costs later in the job. Take this time opportunity to research local remodel companies and design ideas. You can narrow down your style, color pallette and details such as hardware, lighting, faucet, tile, sink, etc. You may be able to order samples online or request specific samples from your remodel company, making the estimating process streamlined.
3. LOOK FOR US MADE PRODUCTS THAT ARE IN STOCK
As production lines have been affected by COVID-19, some supplies and stock may be more readily accessible than others. It is possible that some product will be backordered for quite some time. As you are looking for your cabinetry, countertop, tile and other elements for your kitchen or bathroom, ask your supplier about the availability. For example, a customer of ours had ordered tile from Italy which turned out was going to be too long of a wait for shipment, so they had to select a different tile for their floor. Knowing the current stock and shipping for a product will help you with your timeline and expectations on your remodel.
If you are in the Orlando area and looking for a kitchen or bathroom remodel, we would love to speak with you about your project. Our team takes every measure to protect our customers and each other during this unprecedented time. From our family to yours, we wish you well and look forward to the possibility of working with you.
